What is Oasis?
Oasis Ministry Outreach is a ministry of the Michigan Diocese of the
Episcopal Church that welcomes, affirms and supports Transgender, Bisexual,
Lesbian and Gay people (TBLG).
It is a resource center of both materials and support for congregations
working toward being affirming, and for TBLG people who are striving to be
accepted by, and live in, a Christian community.
What does Oasis do?
Oasis is a ministry of cultural and racial diversity in the Episcopal Church
for all who experience prejudice and oppression because of their sexual identity,
gender identity, or sexual orientation, as well as for their families and
friends, offering reconciliation, education, liberation and hope to all who
seek sanctuary, empowerment, justice and peace.
Oasis seeks to carry out its mission through a variety of ministries including:
pastoral care, liturgical inspiration, evangelical outreach, educational
information and political advocacy.
